What’s on the playlist?
Updated July 2010 – Some shows come, some go, some stay the same. Here’s the latest of what I’m listening to in the car, at work, mowing the lawn, etc.

Don’t be afraid of the podcast! It’s not all Dorm Radio broadcasting live from the basement of the science building. There’s quasi-intelligent people out there, and they don’t all have agendas…go figure! And even better, they’re free on itunes. Ipod not included…
SomaCow: The greatest internet radio talk show ever. That’s what they call themselves, and I have yet to find anybody to prove them otherwise. They also bankroll this blog, so I have no choice but to list them first.
The Don Geronimo Show: The Don of the former Don and Mike Show. He’s back on the air out in Sacramento, broadcasting from a home studio in Ocean City, MD. Cherry gig, huh? He tells it like it is, and provides the rare inside look at radio. Truly a radio god.
The Mike O’Meara Show: The Mike from Don and Mike. Sure they went their separate ways, but that means more listening hours per day! Mike’s podcast includes Robb Spewak and Buzz Burbank from the Don and Mike Show, as well as Oscar Santana from Big O and Dukes. Even though Mike by himself just got a morning drive show on a DC classic rocker, they’re still doing the podcast, the fastest hour of funny.
Robb Radio: Robb Spewak, former Don and Mike producer, and current Mike O’Meara Show panelist, spins the most eclectic music show you’ll ever hear. You hear the Jack-FM stations that say they play anything they want, but it’s just the same old mix station with a new name and no jocks. And the songs are carefully screened. Robbay will play songs back to back that have never been played in that order in the history of mankind. And some deep cuts you’ve never heard before. His cheesy intros are almost worth the price of admission. I dare you to listen.
The Michael Kay Show: The voice of the New York Yankees on the YES Network, he doesn’t always play the homer, and will call the Yanks out when needed.
Off the Wall: Chris Shearn, host of the Batting Practice Today (the pre-pregame show) on the YES Network does a weekly show (or thereabout) about the Yanks, and other NY teams, when necessary.
XM 202 / Sirius 197: If you have satellite radio, and aren’t listening to this channel, you mind as well rip it out of your car and flush it down the toilet. Opie and Anthony are reason enough to listen. But even more so, Ron and Fez.
Smodcast: Kevin Smith with Scott Mosier run the gamut from his movies, life in Jersey, and all kinds of NSFW (or regular radio) topics.
Jim and Them: A Vegas-based bunch of potty-mouths, that if guy-talk radio ever comes back, they may wind up on regular radio.
Honorable mention: The Experience, Madhouse Radio, A Mediocre Time with Tom and Dan, the DC AM
